The Santa Margarita Headquarters was the first building constructed on the ranch. Its construction began in '04 and is now finishing in Fall '06. The house is connected to the trophy room on one side through a kitchen and bar area. On the other side the house overlooks the 2 acre pond (see below) built in '06. A favorite aspect of the headquarters lodge are the spacious porches on front and back. The front porch looks down the ranch's long runway and a nearby game feeder which are viewable front the comfort of cedar rocking chairs. For other occasions, the screened-in back porch overlooks the common campfire area and the south Texas brush country beyond.
