Past Breeder Bucks

The following bucks have played an important role in building Santa Margarita's breeding program.  Although they are no longer living in the Texas landscape, they have passed on their genes through years of breeding.  In some cases, we have semen reserves and choose to continue breeding a past breeder through the AI program.

Oscar
SMR owned Oscar from 2006 until February 2011 when he died at the ripe old age of 12.  Through its AI program, SMR continues to use Oscar in the Flaco line and as a targeted outcross.  See more on Oscar's page.

Kingston
Scoring 255 4/8" at 2 years old, Kingston was named one of the
"Texas Top 40 Whitetails"
in the publication by Vamos.  He is one of SMR's biggest 2 year olds ever and certainly gained attention for his combination of high score, attractive frame, and Texas blood.

Kingsley
Kingsley came to SMR from Triple JJJ Ranch as a yearling in 2006. As a son of Orange 811, he played an important role in buildling SMR's Boss line. Kingsely has thrown a number of beautiful typicals, but has been particularly productive through his daughters. Now as an AI breeder, Kingsley's legacy continues to build at SMR.
