Santa Margarita Ranch

Deep in the Golden Triangle of South Texas

Predator and Hog Hunts

Hogs and predators are fun hunts all year.  The ranch is closely managed for whitetails so we hunt both these in order to take the pressure off the deer.  Mostly these animals are taken while on hunts for other things, but some hunters may opt to hunt for them specifically.

Wild Hog Hunts
Wild hogs provide fun shooting year-round.  Still fairly prevalent on the ranch, hunters coming for whitetail and exotic hunts often bring home the bacon as an added bonus.  All whitetail, exotic and bird hunts include free and unlimited hogs.  These are fun animals to shoot and great freezer-fillers if you can find one of the smaller hogs (under 150lbs.).  South Texas does grow 'em large though, and hogs 300+ lbs. have been taken on the ranch.

Javelina Hunts
Santa Margarita is home to South Texas' native hog species, the Javelina.  Javelina do not reproduce the prolific way hogs do and are rather managed instead of eliminated.  They are interesting creatures and an embodiment of the rough south Texas brush country.  Though smaller than the typical feral hog, they are far more aggressive.

      The prices are as follows:

  • Per animal: $250

Bobcat and Coyote Hunts
Along with hogs, Bobcats and Coyotes are common on the ranch and may be taken free and unlimited by all whitetail, exotic and bird hunters.
