Rifle Range

SMR's rifle range offers endless hours of fun.  We believe there truly is nothing like the smell of gun-powder in the morning and built this range knowing out hunters would agree.  With no one rushing you off the range or firing in your ear, sighting-in and plinking is a pleasure in the South Texas setting.  Targets begin at 50 yards and continue on out to 400.  The shooting area is covered and kept cool in the summer months with overhead fans.  The shooting bench is built for up to 5 shooters, with or without the use of sandbags and LeadSleds.  Hunters are advised to check their guns when they arrive for a hunt and often return to the range during their time at SMR for mid-day fun.  For those going out on spot-and-stalk exotics hunts, this also offers a good opportunity to hone your skills shooting off-hand.

Skeet Range

Although we focus on South Texas' premier deer hunting, we love to shoot shotguns as well.  A complete skeet range accompanies the rifle and bow ranges, allowing hunters yet another opportunity for recreation between hunts or after you've bagged that trophy whitetail you came to hunt.  Small to large groups are welcome to shoot skeet until either bones, stamina or betting change runs out.

Archery Range

Bowhunters know the value of practice and often have a particular love for the sport of hunting.  Whether super-tuning your compound or plinking around with Fred Bear's old recurve, SMR's bow range makes for a wonderful afternoon.  Morrell's Outdoor Range targets are positioned every 10 yards out to 60, while a covered area provides room to sit, talk and hang your bows.  Just watch the background as you pick-up your bow.  South Texas' monster Whitetails are known to frequent the area...
